Internet Users Net at 90m in April- NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said internet users in the Nigeria stood at 90 million in April. The telecommunications industry regulator made the disclosure in its Monthly Internet Subscribers Data made available in its website on Thursday in Lagos. The data indicated that internet users on both Global System for Mobile (GSM) communications and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) networks increased from 90,003,101 in March to 90,154,737 in April. TELECOMS CONTRIBUTED 9.1% GDP IN Q4 2016: NIGERIA

  The Nigerian telecommunications sector has contributed 9.1% to the country’s GDP in the fourth quarter of 2016, according to a recent report by the National Bureau of Statistics. The report shows that the telecom sector contributed N1,663 billion to the country’s economy, which represents an increase of 1.1% points relative to the previous quarter. While stating that the share of telecoms in total real GDP had declined throughout 2010
